Winter 2012: “Walking the Talk”
Study on the Letter of James
Please join us for a 6-weeks discussion of the Epistle of James entitled Walk the Talk. At its core, James is a letter about our relationships with God and with one another. Throughout his writing, James takes a penetrating glimpse into the human heart and the unpredictable nature of human behavior. In reading it, we are confronted with questions concerning our actions, our words, and our thoughts…and how we might treat others and ourselves more as Christ would.
To highlight his most famous verse, James argues, “Faith without works is dead (2:17).” If he’s right, then how can those who have faith in Christ, work and act more ethically, justly, and compassionately as we interact with one another in our hurried, modern world.
We hope you’ll join us as we journey together each Wednesday this winter. The course is offered at 2:00 p.m. for those who prefer to attend in the afternoon and at 7:30 p.m. for those who are able to attend the evening session. (Meeting Dates: February 1, 8, 15, 29 and March 7, 14) No meeting on Feb. 22 due to Ash Wednesday Services.

Office Volunteers At Work:
Fridays, 10-10:30am
Office Volunteers At Work is one of many ministries of Little Falls United Methodist Church. Volunteers meet in the church on Friday mornings at 10 am. We prepare the Sunday worship bulletin, help with mass mailing of newsletters and other church correspondences, as well as help out with other efforts. Please call us at 973-256-0993 to get more information about this and other ministries.
Prayer Circle:
Fridays 10:30 – 11am
Praying can be learned. Just as the disciples asked Jesus, “Teach us to pray,” we are learning to pray AS WE PRAY TOGETHER. We pray over the prayer cards collected on Sunday. We also talk about our own concerns and concerns of our world. And pray for that. Sometimes, we hear a word from God through the Bible and pray about that. So join us – and pray with us.
